Why "never silent" is the most important feature in radio

In radio, silence is failure. A few seconds of dead air and listeners assume the station is broken - and they leave. That is why the fallback chain matters more than almost any other feature.

Three layers of protection

A well-built station has a chain of backups. If your live show disconnects, the stream falls to AutoDJ. If AutoDJ has nothing queued, it falls to an emergency loop. At every level, something is playing.

The live handover problem

Many cheap setups drop the stream for a few seconds when a live DJ connects or disconnects. Listeners hear the gap. A proper system makes the handover instant and track-insensitive - the live voice cuts in immediately, and AutoDJ resumes the moment it ends.

What this means for you

You can run live shows with confidence, take breaks, and even have your internet hiccup - and your audience keeps hearing your station. Reliability is not glamorous, but it is what separates stations people trust from stations they abandon.

Every ZairWave station includes this fallback chain by default. You do not configure it; it is simply always there.
